Ponytails. Buns. Curls. Braids. All of it.

The Styling Archive

The question we get more than any other is whether you can actually style a wig, or whether you're stuck with one look forever. You're not. This is every style our customers and creators pull off with a Radiant piece on video, start to finish.

What wrecks a style

Backcombing at the crown or near the lace
It pulls hair straight out of the knots. Once it's out it doesn't grow back. Use a light mist and a gentle lift instead.
Heat anywhere near the knots, lace or cap
Lace melts. That damage can't be undone, and it's the one repair we can't help you with.
Slicking a ponytail back flat
It draws a hard line at the hairline and it's the single thing that makes a wig look like a wig. Rake, don't slick.
Hard snap elastics
Dragged over a wig day after day, they take hair with them. Soft scrunchies or spiral ties only.
Heavy product at the root
Anything heavy at the base loosens the knots and weighs the hair flat. Products belong on the mid-lengths and ends.
Brushing a curl out while it's warm
Cooling is what sets the shape. Brush it early and you've wasted the whole set.
Hairspray after the curl instead of before
Spray the section before you wrap it. Curls set with heat over product; curls sprayed afterwards drop by lunchtime.
Sleeping in a style
Friction at the nape all night is the number one cause of matting. Loosely plait it if you must.
